NRL Round 7 Preview: Can the Storm End Their Losing Streak in Canberra?

Round 7 features eight matches across four days, with the struggling Storm heading to Canberra and the Bulldogs looking to back up their demolition of Penrith.

NRL Round 7 Preview: Can the Storm End Their Losing Streak in Canberra?

NRL Round 7 opens tonight with the Raiders hosting Melbourne at GIO Stadium, followed by the Dolphins taking on Penrith in Darwin. Saturday brings four matches, and Sunday wraps up with the Roosters-Knights and an Eels-Bulldogs clash at CommBank Stadium. The Sharks have the bye.

Key Match: Raiders vs Storm (Friday, 6pm AEST)

Melbourne's losing streak has stretched to four games after last week's defeat to the Warriors. The Storm have Harry Grant and Cameron Munster available, but their pack has struggled for consistency since Round 3. Canberra found form beating the Rabbitohs in Perth and will be confident at home. Joseph Tapine and Josh Papali'i are both named to start.

The Raiders opened at $2.10 with the Storm at $1.74, but that line has tightened through the week. If you're backing Melbourne, the value sits in the 1-12 margin rather than the head-to-head given their recent form.

Other Games to Watch

The Bulldogs carry serious momentum into Sunday's western Sydney derby after smashing the Panthers 38-12 last round. Matt Burton and Lachlan Galvin looked sharp through the middle, and the Eels are coming off a heavy loss to the Titans. The Tigers host Brisbane at Campbelltown on Saturday night, with Jarome Luai and Adam Doueihi combining well at 6 and 7. South Sydney face the Dragons at Accor Stadium in what shapes as a must-win for both sides sitting in the bottom half of the ladder.

What This Means for Punters

Round 7 is the first week where we have enough data to trust the market adjustments. Early-season anomalies are settling. If you're building Same Game Multis, look at the tryscorer markets for the Roosters-Knights game, where James Tedesco and Daniel Tupou have been finding the line regularly. Round 7 fixtures and team-list coverage is available at ABC Rugby League.
