AFL | 26 May 2026

Collingwood's record-breaking Round 11 win over West Coast at the MCG on Saturday came at a heavy injury cost. Jamie Elliott has ruptured his ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2026 season. Recall Will Hayes, who was the bright spot of the Pies' Round 10 SCG loss to Sydney, is out with a shoulder issue. Captain Darcy Moore has a hamstring strain that adds to the concussion-symptoms watch he had been managing for two weeks. Pendlebury, lifted on the shoulders of teammates after the 433rd-game record-setter on Saturday, was untouched. Craig McRae faces a Round 12 forced reshuffle with Tim Membrey, Jack Buller, Harvey Harrison and Wil Parker the likely recalls for Saturday's Marvel Stadium fixture against the in-form Western Bulldogs.

Elliott's Season Over, Hayes Out, Moore in Doubt

Elliott's ACL was confirmed by the club on Monday afternoon. The 32-year-old small forward, who kicked three on Saturday and had been one of the Pies' most consistent attackers across 2026, will miss the remainder of the year and faces a 12-month rehabilitation. Will Hayes, the midfielder recalled to the team in Round 10, has been ruled out with the shoulder injury sustained against the Eagles. Darcy Moore's hamstring is the more nuanced issue. The Magpies captain returned from concussion symptoms only to suffer the strain late in Saturday's win, and is being graded for one-to-three-week absence. McRae told the Tuesday press conference the side will go in heavy with VFL-experienced bodies for Round 12.

The Round 12 Reshuffle and What It Means for the Top Eight

Pies fans are looking at the bench for next Saturday with Jack Buller, Tim Membrey, Harvey Harrison and Wil Parker the names mentioned in early speculation as the likely recalls. Buller, who has held a marking presence at VFL level, is the natural Elliott replacement at the small forward post. Parker is the depth call who played in Round 10 against Sydney. Pendlebury, despite being 38, is being managed for a fixture-by-fixture call and may rest at the Round 13 bye. The Pies sit 5-1-5, eighth on percentage. Round 12 fixtures: Carlton v Geelong Friday at the MCG ($3.70 v $1.25), Sydney v Richmond Saturday SCG, Brisbane v Fremantle Gabba, Western Bulldogs v Collingwood Marvel ($1.63 v $2.25), St Kilda v Hawthorn Marvel ($2.60 v $1.50).

Where the Markets Land

Pies premiership futures drift hard on the Elliott confirmation. Top-eight markets stay alive but at a reduced number across our reviewed bookmakers dabble, Ladbrokes and bet365. The Round 12 line on the Western Bulldogs as $1.63 favourite has shortened from the opener of $1.75 since the Pies team list was confirmed Tuesday morning. Coleman markets adjust on the Elliott absence, with Naughton and Lynch (Tigers) the new Coleman favourites. Brownlow markets stay stable on Daicos for the form line. The Pies' Round 13 bye lands as a fixture-relief on the calendar even with the Round 12 fixture against the Dogs sitting at the lower end of the form-line spectrum.
